Effects of Children¡¯s Perception of Interparental Conflict on Conflict resolution strategies

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine effects of children's perception of interparental conflict on conflict resolution strategies. A total of 357 children 4th and 5th grade elementary school children living in Gyouggi-do area. They responded to samples are questionnaires that included measures of Children's Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale (CPIC) and conflict resolution strategies. To analyzed the data, SPSS 21.0 used for the simple regression analysis and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The primary results of the study are summarized as follows. First, high level of perceived interparental conflict has used less compromising-integrating strategy, less avoiding strategy, more dominating strategy. Second, children's perception of parental 'unsolved conflict' and low 'coping efficacy' had impact on compromising-integrating strategy. Children's perception of parental 'triangles', 'unsolved conflict', 'self-blame' and low 'coping efficacy' had impact on avoiding strategy. Children's perception of parental 'strength' and 'triangles' had impact on obliging strategy. Children's perception of parental 'threat' had impact on dominating strategy.
